My Grow Your Own ๐Ÿ„ Mushrooms Kit Review | Amazon Product Testing

Uncategorized

I’ve been having so much fun testing Amazon products lately! This is our latest test that we are really psyched about!

I ordered this Hodgins Harvest Grow Your Own Lion’s Mane Mushroom Kit to accompany our Botany Course that we just keep adding to ๐Ÿ˜…. It was supposed to be our spring science unit, but I’m pretty sure it’s just become a regular class for us at this point.

I was pretty disappointed how it arrived. While it was still usable, the box arrived very damaged. Typically, I wouldn’t care about a box, but in this case, you are supposed to grow the mushrooms directly from the box. Something like this should be safely packaged so that it doesn’t get damaged or destroyed in transit.

My address sticker was simply stuck on top of the front of the box so I could barely get a good photo for the review. As a customer, it made me feel like they could care less about the product as long as it made it off their shelf. Someone who cared for and stood by their product wouldn’t just slap a sticker on and toss it in the PO box.

I did appreciate how the directions were on the side of the box instead of an insert. That’s definitely more eco-friendly & easy to keep track of.

Our box arrived with the hole already punched out which was also upsetting. I think the kids would have liked to do that part, but I guess on the brightside it saved them from fighting over who got to punch it out so there’s that.

Because of the quality of the shipping, I personally wouldn’t order from this company again unless it turns out really worth it. I’m glad it was paid for by the testing company. We are really excited to watch it grow over the next few weeks and track its progress in our Botany observation journals. ๐Ÿ„

We are not letting the damage stop us. We’ve decided to use a pastry bucket from our local grocery store bakery to house our mushrooms in. It’s the perfect size and I feel a lot safer keeping them contained. I don’t want spores to spread and end up with a new mold problem. I painted ๐Ÿ„ mushrooms on it so that it would adorably label what was kept inside, rather than just a big chunky bucket looking like clutter on a shelf.

I’ll be back with a report on any progress it has made & what our thoughts are after it has time to grow!

Until next time โ™ก Mama Morozov
